Conference site

The InPEx 2024 workshop will be held in Sitges (Spain) close to Barcelona.

The conference site is the Calipolis Hotel located at Av. Sofía 2-6 08870 Sitges.

Accomodation

The meeting will officially start at noon on Monday 17 June and will end at noon on Wednesday 19 June.

By registering to this event, your accomodation is taken care of by the InPEx organisation on Monday 17 and Tuesday 18 June.

Extra rooms

For travel arrangements, extra rooms have been booked both on Sunday 16 June and Wednesday 19 June.

If you need an extra room on Sunday or Wednesday, please indicate it on the registration form.

Costs related to those extra rooms are covered by the InPEx organisation.

Arrival and departure

Located close to Barcelona, Sitges is a place easy to reach. If you can, for your travel arrangements, please favor low-carbon modes of transport (train over plane).

Train

The Calipolis hotel is at a 10-minute walk from the Sitges train station which is easily reachable from Barcelona main train stations (Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gracia). Loof for trains on the R2 Sud line - typically heading to destinations like Vilanova i la Geltru or St. Vicenç de Calders. The train journey from Barcelona to Sitges takes around 30 to 40 minutes.

Car

If you are coming by road from Barcelona or the airport, take the C-31 highway towards Castelldefels, join the C-32 motorway, and take exit 30 towards Rambla de Sitges. At the roundabout, take the second exit towards C-211/Passeig de Vilafranca, and upon reaching the second roundabout, choose the first exit. The third exit at the next roundabout will take you to Avenida Sofía, where you will find the hotel at the end of the promenade.

Plane

From the Barcelona airport, you can easily reach Sitges by bus. The company Bus Garraf provides a direct service from Terminal 1 at El Prat Airport to Avenida Sofía in Sitges, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel. If you arrive at Terminal 2, there is a free shuttle service to Terminal 1. We recommend checking the schedules at www.busgarraf.cat.

Taxis are available 24 hours at El Prat Airport, with an approximate cost of €70.

The hotel can also offer a private transfer service upon prior reservation. You have to send a request to calipolis@hotelcalipolis.com

Shuttles

Two shuttles will be organised at the end of the meeting. Both shuttles will leave at 14:00 on Wednesday 19 June.

  • One shuttle will head to the Barcelona airport
  • One shuttle will head to the TPC meeting location

If you want to benefit from one of this shuttle, please indicate it in your registration form.

Meals

All meals are organised and taken care of by the InPEx organisation from the welcome lunch on Monday 17 to the departure lunch on Wednesday 19.

All meals - except for dinner on Tuesday 18 - will be taken at the conference place.

  • Lunches are finger foods
  • Dinners are sitting dinners

On Tuesday 18, participants will enjoy dinner in Sitges. Please note the hour of this dinner will follow Spanish hours and will start at 21:00.

Extra meals

An extra dinner will be organised on Sunday evening at the hotel premises.

Please indicate in the registration form if you want to participate to this dinner.

Costs related to those extra rooms are covered by the InPEx organisation.

DoE Policy

Some attendees may have to follow US DoE policy.

  • Only in this case a registration fee will be asked for the participation to the InPEx 2024 workshop
  • The registration fee is 400€, VAT included
  • The registration fee covers meeting and food expenses but does not cover accomodation
  • Accomodation for people using DoE policy will be paid directly with the Hotel
    • These attendees benefit from the conference pre-booking

Please indicate if you shall follow DoE policy on the registration form. You will be contacted directly by the organisation to indicate you the procedure to be followed to pay the associated registration fee.

Monitoring the environmental impact

In order to monitor the environmental impact of this meeting, the organisation will use the methodology developed by the French initiative Labos 1.5. Some questions of the registration form are directly related to this monitoring.
